The same precision characterization engineers trust from HyMPulse — now with automated handling, automated temperature sweeps, and 2× faster repetition rate. Built for production volumes that the original HyMPulse was never designed for.
HyMPulse 4.0 keeps the measurement fundamentals that made the original HyMPulse the industry reference — shape-insensitive testing, full B-H curves, –40°C to +220°C range — and wraps them in an automated workflow that cuts operator time, reduces human error, and scales to production.
The original HyMPulse set the bar for precision in permanent-magnet characterization. HyMPulse 4.0 keeps that foundation and adds the automation layer our customers have been asking for as production volumes have climbed.
Six new automations — handling, temperature sweep, eddy current correction, magnetizing/demagnetizing, knee-point correction, and 2× faster pulse repetition — turn what was a skilled-operator R&D instrument into a production-ready QC tool. Samples load, measure through a full temperature curve, and return to the rack without intervention.

No. We continue to ship and support the standard HyMPulse. It remains the right instrument for R&D environments, lab settings, and customers whose measurement volumes don’t justify the automation layer. HyMPulse 4.0 is positioned as the production-tier variant for high-volume QC and incoming-goods inspection, where operator time and cycle consistency dominate total cost.
Partial software-layer upgrades (knee-point correction, updated analysis pipeline) are available as a field upgrade. The full automation package: handling robot, automated temperature sweep, 2× repetition rate; requires the 4.0 cabinet and control electronics. Contact us for a retrofit evaluation against your serial number.
Full-field pulse cycle time is approximately 1 minute on HyMPulse 4.0, versus ~2 minutes on the original HyMPulse. For a 50-sample measurement, that compresses a full-day run on HyMPulse into a ~3-hour run on the 4.0.
The handler supports the same geometries as the original HyMPulse sample holder range: segments, rings, cylinders, bars, coated magnets, and arbitrary shapes. The handler is configured to your specific sample geometry mix as part of commissioning. We’ll help you determine the sensor sizes that allow you to get the job done — share a drawing and we’ll confirm fit.
Yes, they are exactly the same, within margin of calibrated measurement standards. The measurement physics, coils, field generation, and standards compliance are unchanged. A sample measured on either instrument produces the same B-H curve. This matters for customers who run R&D on the original HyMPulse and move to production on 4.0. No data re-baselining required and full software backwards compatibility.
Lead time is 18–22 weeks from purchase order, depending on handler configuration. Installation at the customer site typically takes one week including IQ/OQ commissioning and operator training. Remote software support and scheduled preventive maintenance are included for the first year.
