01 / Overview

Sets the bar for
magnetic characterization.

The HyMPulse has been engineered for precision, repeatability, customization and ease of use. Its modular design combines industrial-grade measurement hardware with a purpose-built software platform.

HyMPulse

Modular by design, HyMPulse combines full-hysteresis-loop measurement capabilities, visualization and reporting software, and shape-insensitive sample testing — all in their finished geometry, with no alteration required.

Engineers, academics and manufacturers use HyMPulse to test, qualify and optimize magnets for automotive, e-mobility, wind energy, consumer electronics, medical and advanced R&D applications — where precise characterization of Br, HcJ, HcB, knee point and BHmax is non-negotiable.

02 / Parts & Components

Anatomy of HyMPulse.

Every element of the HyMPulse has been engineered in-house, from the capacitive-discharge magnetizer to the embedded measurement coils and software platform.

01

Measurement Cabinet

Designed with a magnetizing coil and integrated cooling system, plus a dedicated heating compartment for the sample holder.

02

Sample Holders

Configurable holders accommodate all sample geometries — segments, bars, cylinders and rings. Designs available for miniature, irregular or coated magnets.

03

Heater & Measuring Units

Two dedicated modules manage heating and magnetic property measurement. Supports temperature-controlled testing from –40°C to +220°C.

04

Magnetizer Cabinet

A capacitive discharge magnetizer that drives the embedded coil. Supports complete BH curve acquisition and high-energy pulse testing.

05

Embedded Measurement Coil

Precisely records magnetic field and flux response during each pulse. Designed for free-form sample measurement without pole shoes — minimizing magnetic distortion.

06

Data Acquisition Software

Purpose-built platform for data capture, analysis and reporting, with regular upgrades. Generates full reports for Br, HcB, HcJ and other key metrics.

05 / FAQ

Frequently asked.

What are the industry standard measurement capabilities?

The HyMPulse delivers state-of-the-art repeatability and accuracy for permanent magnet measurements, including:

  • Measurements at user-definable temperatures (–40°C to +220°C) with uniform sample heating
  • Automatic Eddy-current compensation (patent pending)
  • Complete hysteresis loop, Br, HcJ, HcB, knee point, Hm, Bm, BHmax and working point
What is the available temperature range?

The standard configuration covers 20°C to 180°C, with optional low- and high-temperature extensions. The HyMPulse operates within a wide range from –40°C to +220°C.

What industrial magnet geometries are possible?
  • Shape-insensitive measurement (patented) for segments, rings, cylinders, bars and more
  • In-vivo inspection of end-products instead of standard reference magnets
  • No pole shoes required
  • Standard sample bore: 50 mm
  • Can measure coated magnets, even with thick layers
How large is the volume range?
  • Exchangeable HMP-probes (sample holders) for various magnet sizes
  • Up to 120 mm diagonal for Ferrites and 80 mm diagonal for HPU80
  • Sensor + sample holder can measure hysteresis loops using a single probe
How user-friendly is HyMPulse?
  • No sample preparation or pole shoe adaptation required
  • Samples can be demagnetized after testing for easy storage
  • Online and offline data viewing for reporting and sharing results
Why is HyMPulse insensitive to magnet shape?

Thanks to our patented pole-free measurement principle. One sensor measures bars, rings, segments, discs and more — without any additional adaptation.

How does HyMPulse relate to industry standards?

HyMPulse conforms to IEC 60404-5 for permanent magnets and is tested per TR 62331 for technical reporting.
